ABOUT THE OWNER
My name is Lisa. I'm a local Kalamazoo resident and have lived here all my life. I founded Caring 4 Your Pets in 2009 when I realized that I could take my love and passion for animals and help people care for their pets while they were at work or away on vacation.
I have always loved animals. I can't remember a time when our home was without a dog, cat or rabbit. As a teenager and into my adult years, I cared for family and friends pets when they went away on vacation.
I am a rescue girl at heart. I have been a foster home to both dogs and cats over the past 20 years (on my own and with a local rescue organization). I am currently involved with the Kalamazoo Humane Society as adoption counselor at our local animal control shelter.
I have 3 dogs and 8 cats. All, but one, was adoption from the Kalamazoo Annimal Control shelter. One was adopted from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
I am involved in Agility training with 2 of my dogs. We are currently members of Canine Performance Events, Inc (CPE) an organization that offers titling classes in Agility. I hope to be involved with AKC and UKC events by summer 2012. Outside of class, I am constantly working with my dogs with some type of obedience traning.
I have experience with high energy dogs, big breeds, little breeds, dogs with separation anxiety and trust issues, bully breeds and the escape artist.
I am experienced in giving oral medications and insulin injections to dogs and cats. I am comfortable caring for pets with special needs.
My daughter, Brina, frequently helps me with my business. She shares the same love and passion for animals that I do.
